Program Development Guidelines

Program Development Guidelines
(State & Regional Programs)

The NACS Foundation Board of Directors has adopted the following general guidelines to govern the allocation of all conference, education and program development grants:

Application Process & Eligibility
  1. Grants will be awarded based on applicant need and weighted selection criteria. All applications for program development must be submitted six weeks prior to the upcoming event to be considered.

All applications for program development grants are reviewed upon submission and will be notified of their grant status via e-mail within 7-10 business days of receipt. Once all grants have been allocated, a waitlist will be kept in the event that a grant cannot be used.

  2. All NACS affiliated associations or organizations are eligible to receive one (1) program grant every calendar year to provide for program development at their upcoming event.

Associations holding joint or combined conferences, regardless of the number of associations participating, may apply for one grant per association and only receive a maximum of two (2) grants for their combined meeting to be used to provide no more than two (2) NACS offered educational programs. All grants are subject to the availability of funds. Applicants with exceptional circumstances who do not meet the stated eligibility guidelines will be referred to the NACS Foundation Grant Committee for special consideration.

  3. Applicants with outstanding invoices with NACS, Inc. or with the NACS Foundation will not be eligible to receive grant assistance until they are able to make the account current through mutually agreed upon terms between involved parties.

  4. Applications must be submitted with all requested information and applicants must agree to the noted guidelines and eligibility requirements.
Grant Procedures and Notifications
  1. All applications for program development must be submitted six weeks prior to the event date (as noted in the grant description).

  2. In the event of an emergency or obligation that prohibits the use of the grant assistance, the grant recipient must notify the NACS Foundation prior to the start of the program. Any funds provided to the grant recipient must be returned to the NACS Foundation.
Grant Recipient Requirements
  1. The association or organization that applies for a program development grant will ensure that NACS Foundation will be recognized as an event sponsor at the level equivalent to the program grant amount allocated, and receive all marketing and promotional benefits provided at that level.

  2. The association or organization receiving the grant will provide the NACS Foundation with one (1) complimentary full-registration to the conference/program to be used at the Foundation's discretion.

  3. The Association will provide NACS one (1) complimentary table at any tradeshow held during the conference/event.

  4. The grant recipient will provide NACS Foundation with an opportunity to make a brief presentation immediately prior to the sponsored session, incorporate Foundation program PowerPoint slides within the presenter’s materials, and to display and distribute Foundation literature (actual presentation time and materials to be negotiated prior to the meeting/event).

  5. The grant recipient will ensure that NACS Foundation receives a complete attendee list (including vendors) prior to the start of the event.

  6. NACS Foundation will be provided with an opportunity to participate in any additional sponsored program events as negotiated prior to the show.

  7. Grant recipients who fail to fulfill the required commitments for the grant will be required to reimburse the NACS Foundation for the allocated grant monies and will be ineligible to apply for a grant for a period of 24 months.
The NACS Foundation Board of Directors is solely responsible for all decisions regarding allocation of NACS Foundation grants and reserves the right to accept or reject any application.
